About the Artist

Gabrielle Ranger is a Canadian contemporary artist. Her work explores memory, place, and the emotional resonance of landscape.

Working in primarily acrylics, she creates expressive environments that balance realism with painterly abstraction, often incorporating wildlife as quiet narrative elements within the space. She works through sfumato and glazing techniques, combining subtle color transitions with expressive mark-making to evoke atmosphere, movement, and time.

Gabrielle holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Ottawa, where she developed a foundation in both traditional and contemporary approaches to painting.

Since graduating, her work has been commissioned and exhibited in both public and private spaces. Notably her painting The Rushing waters of Waterdown has been featured on public banners in Waterdown for the past five years. Her work has been exhibited across Ontario and featured in public-facing installations, with recognition from the City of Hamilton for her contributions as an emerging artist.

Her paintings are also held in private collections internationally, including Canada, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Costa Rica.

Alongside her studio practice, Gabrielle has expanded into large-scale painting through mural work and scenic design. Her work spans a variety of surfaces, from traditional canvas to large-scale murals and painted objects.

Her practice continues to explore how landscape, memory and narrative intersect within both intimate and public spaces.
