Timelapse and documentation
Below are videos edited as reels and available on instagram as well. Documentation taken intended for this website are still undergoing editing, so stay tuned!
Here is another reel from instagram. It captures the location that inspired the painting. This piece was given as a gift to a good friend meant to capture a fond memory at their cottage.
Here is a little reel from instagram showing a quick time lapse. Fun fact, this time lapse consists of over hours of work.
Below are some of the pre-order ornaments I custom painted in February 2024. I used a specific glass paint and hand paint each layer. I was heavily inspired by feminine pink aesthetics and enjoyed adding some fun flourishes to the ornaments. In terms of the pet portrait, I book a select few and this piece was an in memorial for of the sweet Crosby.
February 2024
In March I began to plan a new mural project with the restaurant Conversate, located in downtown Hamilton. We discussed a verity of possible subjects, but landed on rendering an octopus that climbs up their staircase. I am excited for you to follow along on this journey!
March 2024
In March, I also attended the opening of Exhibition No. 3 (Art at Seven Innovation), “Where Hamilton Innovation Meets Nature, 2023.”, a painting I made in reflection of my community and family history was on display amongst other pieces.
In April, I began to lay down the ground work for my mural at Conversate, such as picking the colour purple as the main accent colour of the octopus. I used certain painting techniques with purple and blue hues, accentuating fun textures.
April 2024
In May I continued to work of my mural located at Conversate, a fine dining seafood and steakhouse. In total I spent 24 days working on this project, with goal of creating a piece that reflects the sophisticated yet playful quality of the restaurant. After discussion about creating an octopus that was illustrative and strayed away from realism, I was able to create tentacles larger that life that wrapped around all the surrounding walls so make the viewer feel immersed in the work as well as a cohesive visual throughout the staircase.
May 2024
Here is a 4’’ x 4’’ painting I made in May called “Kitty Kant, 2024” as a gift. It is acrylic on canvas. To make the piece seem larger than its true size so that it would travel friendly, I decided to paint all the sides.
In mid May, while working on an assortment of projects, I was also selected in another project. The Waterdown Village hired me among other local artists to paint muskoka chairs depicting specific community values, to decorate the town space throughout the summer, with the intention of having all the works auctioned at the end of the summer with the proceeds supporting important groups and communities. My chair’s proceeds will be going towards the Flamborough Food Bank and The YMCA youth foundation.
